Lisa Businovski
is a Melbourne-based award-winning artist, photographer and printmaker whose practice explores music, performance and human connection.
For more than two decades she has worked alongside musicians, performers and creative communities throughout Australia, creating photographs that move between documentary and fine art. Influenced by her background in printmaking, Lisa has developed a distinctive visual language characterised by movement, atmosphere and an intuitive response to live performance. Whether photographing an arena concert, a quiet backstage moment or a commissioned portrait, her work seeks to capture not only how a performance looked, but how it felt.
Working across live music, portraiture, album artwork, editorial commissions, chronophotography and exhibition projects, Lisa has built long-standing relationships with artists, managers, record labels and touring companies. Her calm, unobtrusive approach enables performers to remain themselves in front of the camera, resulting in images that feel immediate, expressive and deeply human.
Lisa's photographs have appeared in Rolling Stone, Vogue, NME, Billboard, MOJO, Harper's Bazaar, Frankie and i-D. Her clients include Mushroom Group, Frontier Touring, Handsome Tours, Universal Music, Warner Music and triple j, alongside a broad range of artists, labels, festivals, management companies and cultural organisations.
Alongside her commercial practice, Lisa maintains an active exhibition career, with work shown at the International Foto Biennale, Melbourne Music Week and exhibitions throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
Her practice extends into theatre, installation and education, reflecting an enduring interest in collaboration, experimentation and the evolving relationship between image, performance and audience.
